Dr. Girish B Navasundi

Dr. Girish B Navasundi is a well-known Interventional Cardiologist with 21+ years of experience in the field.

He is the first doctor to implant an MRI-compatible AICD system in the state of Karnataka and also the first to implant a tapering coronary stent.

He has extensive experience in the field of Cardiology with over 3000 angiogram surgeries through femoral, radial, and ulnar approaches.

Dr. Navasundi furthermore has performed close to 1000 angioplasties including coronary and peripheral, PDA coil closures, ASD device closures, IVC filter deployment, and pacemaker implantations.

His area of expertise includes the usage of IABP, distal protection devices, covered stents, IVC filters, thrombectomy, intravascular thrombolysis and embolectomy, distal embolization, and AICD implantation.

He has authored and co-authored various research papers for reputed journals, elucidating his experiences during his education and training.

• A paper on HYPERKALEMIA, Etiology and ECG Manifestations at API, Mangalore, Karnataka in 1998.

• Paper on PRIMARY ANGIOPLASTY AND STENTING EXPERIENCE presented at Indian College of Cardiology, 2003, Mumbai, earned him the second Best Paper Award at the National level.

• His Journal on Coronary Angiogram and Intervention through Transulnar Approach was co-published with Pratap C Rath, Bharat V Purohit, Sitaram, and Mallikarjun Reddy, in the Indian Heart Journal.
